busy busy [Jan. 7th, 2009|05:29 pm]
I know I've been really quiet here.   Facebook has taken over as my main social networking for people to keep up with my life.  In a nutshell, Christmas was a little crazy.  New Year's Eve Rocked, as I had the Italians in.  I am looking to go to Italy in March for a week to see everyone, but I'm not sure.  I have an invitation to go to Rio for New Year's 2010 and the Commonwealth Games in New Dehli in Oct. 2010.  I only forsee travel and good times in my future.

I have never spent a Christmas and New Year's where I have felt so loved and blessed.

Namaste.

political events are poison [Nov. 24th, 2008|07:15 pm]
I spent the weekend in bed with a bad case of food poisoning, contracted at the event in my previous post.  It was horrible - however I got a lot of work done including a much needed update and redesign of my resume.  I don't remember the last time I spent an entire weekend not leaving the house.  It's so not like me.

political events [Nov. 20th, 2008|11:16 pm]
I go to a lot of local political events for the newspaper.  I had to photograph one tonight for a member of the Colombian community that is running for City Council.  It started at 6.  I got there at 6:45 because these things never start on time, and especially when it is on Latin time.  Seriously, the candidate told me that his speech would start at 7:30, Latin time, which really meant 8:30.  About 10 people got up and spoke about what a great candidate he is, which is fine.  The only thing that was really annoying was that the whole presentation was in Spanish.  There is nothing worse than going to a political event and listening to boring speeches, except when there are political speeches in a language you don't really understand.

updates [Nov. 6th, 2008|10:25 pm]
Wow, i haven't updated here in quite a while.  I usually post stuff on Facebook now, so that's why I've been so quiet.  All I have to say is Yay to the Obama victory.  Now let's hope my taxes won't go up.

on the VP debate [Oct. 3rd, 2008|05:50 pm]
I had a major headache all night. I think it was in park from listening to some twit say stuff like "Say it ain't so Joe !" and "Bless their hearts." I like being a jaded East Coaster, thankyouverymuch, Gov. Palin !

A Tip [Sep. 29th, 2008|09:54 pm]
Today at approximately 5pm, I observed a girl walking on the divider of Queens Blvd. She seemed about 15-16 and had a styrofoam cup and was begging for change.

However, she also had a Coach purse slung around her shoulders.

Here's a tip - if you are going to beg for change and cry poor, don't carry your designer purse.

Pretty Accurate [Sep. 22nd, 2008|05:03 pm]

Your result for How geeky are you?...

Party Geek

60% Geeky, 81% Cranial and 32% Introverted!

You scored 60% Geeky, 81% Cranial and 32% Introverted. Chances are you're outgoing and have a few idiosyncrasies. And the best art about all that is you're quite smart so you know what that means! You have a great balance of intelligence and personality that is rare with someone of your level of quirkiness.

Make sure you take the time to smell the roses. Your great brain may tend to put you into overdrive, so take some time to relax more. You deserve it!

I truly hope you enjoyed the test as much as I enjoyed making it! I always welcome email comments/suggestions! Thanks for taking it!

a perfect summer weeknd [Jul. 13th, 2008|10:59 pm]
I just got back from a super relaxing chicks weekend in the Hamptons with Vera and 2 of my work friends.  We basically spent the whole time on the beach.  Yesterday, we were at Ponquogue, where thanks to Tropical Storm Bertha, the waves were super high.  It made for some excellent boogie boarding.  I did get thrown a couple of times and managed to scrape my back against the sand, bruise my elbow and scrape my ankle.  However, it was a blast.  I haven't had that much fun boarding in a LONG time.  It makes me want to learn how to surf.
